Hey there again, everyone. Welcome to Sunday. A quick note: It is Mother’s Day. Just sayin’. If possible, I’d suggest giving your mom a call. It probably couldn’t hurt. I’m gonna give mine a call here after I finish typing this up.

But that’s as may be. At the moment, we’ve got our usual spot of gathering some of the bite-sized stories together and presenting them to you here.

In this installment we have: New Robot added to Ramshackle Robots Kickstarter, Brigade Models 15mm SF New Releases, The Painting Frog visits Warhammer World, Close Encounters: Icarus Miniatures Preview the Praesidian Warrior, and a batch of The Fiver interviews from The Meeple Mechanic.

New Robot added to Ramshackle Robots Kickstarter

I just added a new robot to the Ramshackle Robots Kickstarter. THis one is a four legged fiend called Cerberus.

I also added a pick and mix add-on option for the project, so that backers can pick and choose extra bits from the campaign. Please see the project updates for more information and prices!

Brigade Models 15mm SF New Releases

Athena Control Tower Polish Half-tracks

We’ve had a mixed bag of releases in our 15mm SF range this week. The biggest (in both size and weight) is the Control Tower. This 10″ tall model is part of our Colony Base and can mate up with other models in that range or be used as a stand-alone piece. There are two options, the full height model or the slightly smaller version that has a single central pillar instead of two.

We’ve also released the first of our 15mm SF Polish half-tracks in APC, fire support and ATGW versions.

At the same time we’re returning the 15mm Athena VTOL to the website. Out of production for a while, it’s been completely remoulded.

SF15-111 – Athena VTOL – £17.50
SF15-1303 – Suwalska APC – £8.00
SF15-1303a – Suwalska with RFAC turret – £8.00
SF15-1303d – Suwalska with ATGW turret – £8.00
B15-319 – Control Tower – £40.00
B15-319a – Control Tower (single height) – £35.00

The Painting Frog blog has published the second part of its article talking about his visit to Warhammer World. This is the last in the series of “Visiting Britain’s Lead Belt” articles.

Close Encounters: Icarus Miniatures Preview the Praesidian Warrior

Icarus

Icarus Miniatures have previewed another piece of concept art for their upcoming sci fi skirmish wargame, The Icarus Project.

The Praesidians are one of the oldest races in the galaxy. They constructed the Light Gates, the structures that make interstellar travel possible, and are the founding member of the Council.

Since the second Nexus War ended, most of the Praesidian Republic has disappeared beyond the edges of known space. No one knows why, and if the Praesidians that remain know, they aren’t telling.

The Fiver with Nathan Moore on Designing Button Bashers Turbo

Button Bashers Turbo

Hello, my name is Nathan Moore. I am from Rochester NY, I am an IT tech, an amateur game designer, and a little bit of everything else.

A majority of my design education is self-taught. I have made a hand full of tabletop games, but this is the first of many games you will see from Multi-Bit Games.

The Fiver with Koen Hendrix on Designing Dragon Punch

Dragon Punch

Hi, folks! I’m Koen Hendrix, and I’m very used to my first name being mispronounced. It actually rhymes with ‘spoon’, but people generally make it rhyme with ‘Owen’ instead. Such are the perils of being a Dutchman living in the UK.

My day job is designing and developing video games, and I also have a 3-year-old son. Whenever both of those bosses will let me I turn to playing and designing board games.

The Fiver with Trevor Lehmann on Designing Crop Cycle

Crop Cycle

My name is Trevor Lehmann and I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada. By day, I work for a university helping students choose courses and complete their programs while, in the evenings, I work on publishing my game, Crop Cycle.

When not working on my game, I also enjoy the stereotypical academic pursuits of reading and writing (non-fiction mostly) as well as the not so academic pursuits of marathon running, beer brewing, public speaking. The range of interests is fueled primarily by a ludicrous amount of coffee which I love as much as gaming.

The Fiver with T. C. Petty III on Designing Xenon Profiteer

Xenon

Hello, world.

My name is T. C. Petty III and I’m a part-time game designer, a part-time dealer at a rural casino in scenic Pennsylvania where I have resided all of my life. Games of chance may be destroying lives and draining the world of discretionary income, but at least over fifty percent of the money collected is going to straight to the government that mismanages this new billion dollar source of income with taxpayers seeing no tangible benefits. So, it’s morally justifiable. I’m like a reverse Robin Hood.
