The work week continues along. We’re halfway home (“home” in this case being the weekend, of course). If we’ve made it this far, there’s a good chance we’ll make it the rest of the way. But just to make sure, we should bulk up on some bite-size gaming stories.

Fantasy Flight Games Announces Runewars Essentials Pack
Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Runewars Miniatures Game Essentials Pack, an expansion that gives you all the non-figure components you need to field an army in the Runewars Miniatures Game.
Tokens, templates, references, cards, and dice are all included in the essentials pack, providing an exciting starting point for new players, or extra components for a veteran to the battles of Terrinoth.
Moxy Roxy Bringing It’s A Squirrel’s Life To Kickstarter Later This Month
It’s A Squirrel’s Life
board game is for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 30 to 60 minutes. It simulates the typical life of a tree squirrel from nest born, adulthood and ultimately parenthood. Full of humanizing and amusing nuances, both children and adults will enjoy many hours of fun and entertainment. With cleverly designed game rules, it also helps kids develop important social, math and negotiation skills that will benefit both their personal and professional lives for years to come. The board game has two versions: Classic and Deluxe, Limited Edition with only 500 produced. Special Kickstarter prices start at $32.00 and $47.00 respectively for US residents, which represent significant savings over their regular prices. In addition, in order to serve its EU customers better, the company will ship from Germany to EU and Switzerland just for its Kickstarter backers.
Randy Hecht, Director of Product Development, shares the heartwarming story behind his invention: “In summer 2015, I rescued an orphaned tree squirrel that fell off the palm tree of my backyard, named her ‘Roxy,’ nourished her back to health, raised her and released her in spring 2016. Roxy has built her nests around my backyard, given birth to several litters of babies, and still visits me regularly. She inspired me to invent this game, and I will donate proceeds to local animal charities.”

A.E.G.I.S. Combining Robot Strategy Game Returns to Kickstarter April 18th
‘A.E.G.I.S. – Combining Robot Strategy Game’ is a tabletop tactics game where players use teams of five combining robots to face off against each other in combat. Your squad of robots share energy and fight as one united front, and engage in intuitive dice-based combat. Combine your smaller robots into bigger more powerful ones to change the tide of battle! There are over 80 different robots in five different Classes (Assault, Evasive, Guard, Intel, Support), and finding the right strategy and combos are the keys to victory! It’s designed to be more accessible than your average tactics game, with the same huge depth of strategy. Quick to play, easy to learn and with infinite possibilities, newcomers to the strategy game scene and wargaming veterans alike love this game, and you will too! It’s Pokemon meets Power Rangers meets Advance Wars!
It can’t be understated that A.E.G.I.S. has been a pure passion project. We didn’t just set out to build a game, we set out to build an IP – a world with a distinct style all its own, but still be familiar enough to pull at the heartstrings of everyone everywhere who loves fighting Super Robots. From Power Rangers to GaoGaiGar to Gurren Lagann to Voltron to Medabots to Evangelion to G Gundam to Getter Robo – this is it. This is the definitive tabletop game about explosive combining robot combat – and we put everything we had into it.
The game is launching with one box and it will contain OVER 80 robots for tons of team building and combining action! 2-4 players is available right out of the box, for the Kickstarter price of $50.

Carthage Deck-building Game Coming to Kickstarter in May
Carthage is a deckbuilding board game, giving players a progressive game experience… ending in a viscous crescendo of blood and glory! Gladiators start in the hex-based theater as weak combatants, but as their actions gain crowd Favor, they can develop their tactics (player deck) into a lethal combination of Damage, Armor, and Movement.
?
A round begins with the Combat Phase where players play Action Cards, after which they spend crowd Favor points to build better combat options, Lobby the crowd for advantages, or assemble their Starting Deck into a more lethal combination of tactics.
